Botox

Thinking about Botox?

Everyone wants to look and feel their best. Whether you’re wanting to remove some wrinkles and fine lines, freshen up for a big event, or start a maintenance routine for wrinkle prevention, Dr. Elliott’s got you covered. He starts with a consultation, hearing your concerns and the areas you want to address. He then does a comprehensive evaluation of your facial anatomy, evaluates for any asymmetries, and then maps out the appropriate dose and injection location to give the desired effects.

Does it matter where I go to get Botox?

The short answer is yes. Male facial anatomy is different. The muscles are stronger, requiring more units of botox than female facial muscles, so going to a doctor that treats mostly females often leads to botox wearing off too soon.

You want someone who is an expert in facial anatomy and who will conduct a comprehensive exam first and maps out your treatment based on that exam. Botox should always be tailored.

Experience matters–being off by just 1 mm with the injection can mean the difference between no more crows feet or a droopy eyelid.

Most men also don’t want a “plastic” appearance. Dr. Elliott specializes in botox for men, and his approach reflects this. The goal is to give a well-rested and fresh look. Never overdone.

What Are The Risks of Receiving Botox?

While side effects are possible, it’s exceptionally safe when performed by an experienced doctor. Some of the complications and side-effects include bruising and swelling at the site of injection, but with the use of microneedles this is exceptionally rare

What Is Receiving A Botox Injection Like?

Getting a Botox injection is a relatively painless procedure because Dr. Elliott uses microneedles for injections. Most patients are surprised at how little they feel. For about 1-2 hours post-injection, it will look like tiny bee stings that will then go away. For the next 4 hours, you cannot lay flat or touch the areas of injection as this may push the botox into muscles we don’t want paralyzed leading to unwanted effects. You also want to avoid the gym and sauna that day because heat can deactivate botox.

How long Does Botox Last?

Most patients get about 3-4 months of benefit. The more you get botox the longer one can go between treatments. Male facial muscles however are stronger than females and because of this, botox can wear off faster (usually around the 3rd month). Those who are expressive and use their facial muscles more to smile or frown will also find the effects last slightly shorter.

How much does Botox Cost?

Botox is priced by the unit. The cost will depend on how many units are used during your treatment. Each unit costs $12.00.
